Alette + Kieron: Pratts Island Sunset Elopement

This wasn’t just another Acadia elopement—it didn’t need to be. While many visitors flock to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, the Maine coast is brimming with incredible seaside spots perfect for a relaxed and unforgettable wedding.

When Alette and Kieron planned their micro-wedding, they wanted to create a special experience for family and friends while keeping logistics simple. A VRBO on Pratts Island, near Boothbay Harbor, was the ideal choice.

Before their ceremony with loved ones, Alette and Kieron exchanged heartfelt private vows on a secluded beach nearby. They had the entire pebble beach to themselves, accompanied only by the soothing sound of waves, golden light filtering through the spruce trees, and, of course, their photographers.

After a golden hour ceremony, we had a fantastic time capturing portraits as the sun bathed everything in a stunning glow.

During cocktail hour, I casually asked Alette, “Hey, do you guys want to hop in a canoe for some badass adventure shots?” Her enthusiastic response, “LET’S DO IT!” lit up her face.

Kieron grew up on a lake with a canoe paddle in hand, so he was no stranger to hopping in a canoe. We got a canoe and a kayak ready, set out on the water, and captured adventurous moments that truly reflected their spirit.

This elopement is a perfect reminder that you can have an epic adventure wedding without heading to a National Park. There are plenty of private spots that fit your vibe and create lasting memories.
